We believe in making a difference together

At Lloyds Bank, North America we aim to help Britain recover by connecting the UK and Lloyds Banking Group with the rest of the world and to be the best bank for our clients and colleagues as well as the communities that surround us. Between our large UK presence and our New York Branch, our volunteering initiatives make a real difference as thousands of our colleagues are active participants in local community organizations, in and out of company time.

Our Day to Make a Difference program encourages colleagues to dedicate one paid day a year to volunteering for a charity or community project of their choice. Our people’s skills provide many benefits to communities, which equate to millions of dollars of in-kind support for organizations. Volunteering also gives colleagues the opportunity to develop skills which are valuable to our business.

In addition to this, we support colleagues who choose to support a partner charity after office hours by offering them half the time volunteered in paid time off and matching donated funds*.

Our charity of the year

As well as volunteering with a number of local organizations, we support a principal charity organization chosen every two years by colleagues. We do this by running internal fundraising events throughout the year. In 2020, we elected City Harvest as our charity partner for two years.

City Harvest is the world’s first food rescue organization and for the past 39 years they have been working to end hunger in communities throughout New York City. They do this through food rescue and distribution, education, and other practical, innovative solutions. Today, City Harvest is New York City’s largest food rescue organization, helping to feed the more than 1.5 million New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables.

Within our North America business, we are proud to support our affinity networks and have an Inclusion and Diversity Committee which drives our strategy and monitors our progress against our Key Performance Indicators. We also have an active Forum that coordinates Branch activities to support inclusion and celebrate diversity. Quite simply, we believe in doing the right the thing. We are committed to fostering an environment that encourages our colleagues bring their whole self to work and is representative of the communities we serve.
