At Lloyds Bank, we aim to be the best bank for clients and colleagues, and also for the communities that surround us. Between our large UK presence and our North America locations, our volunteering initiatives make a real difference as thousands of our colleagues are active participants in local community organizations, in and out of company time.
Our Day to Make a Difference program encourages colleagues to dedicate one paid day a year to volunteering for a charity or community project of their choice. Our people’s skills provide many benefits to communities, which equate to millions of dollars of in-kind support for organizations world-wide. Volunteering also gives colleagues the opportunity to develop skills which are valuable to our business.
In addition to this, we support colleagues who choose to support a partner charity after office hours by offering them half the time volunteered in paid time off and matching donated funds*.
Our charity of the year
As well as volunteering with a number of local organizations, we support a principal charity organization chosen every two years by colleagues. We do this by running internal fundraising events throughout the year. In 2018, we elected City Harvest as our charity partner.
City Harvest is the world’s first food rescue organization and for the past 35 years they have been working to end hunger in communities throughout New York City. They do this through food rescue and distribution, education, and other practical, innovative solutions.

At Lloyds Bank, our commitment starts at the top of the organization. Our Senior Executives sponsor our diversity and inclusion program, taking the lead on initiatives that enable our colleagues to unlock their full potential through networking, knowledge sharing and mentoring.
