Lloyds Bank has appointed Andy Schaeffer to head its North America business, effective February 1.
Schaeffer replaces Mark Grant who will return to London as a base for his previously announced role as Chief Executive designate of the Group’s Non-Ring-Fenced Bank alongside his overarching responsibilities for Lloyds Bank’s operations in Asia, Europe and North America.
Schaeffer joined Lloyds Bank North America in July 2014 to lead and develop the Financial Markets team. He was subsequently promoted to Head of Markets North America in April 2015, when he transformed the Capital Markets and Financial Markets teams into one operation. Schaeffer has a 25 year banking pedigree, having previously worked at Natixis Securities, Credit Agricole and a number of US and international banks.
Mark Grant, MD International, Lloyds Bank, commented: "Andy stepped up to formally deputize for me last year and during his time at Lloyds Bank he has proven to be a first class leader and an acute markets professional. The move is a testament to the solid leadership team we have developed in North America in recent years and the business is well placed for future success."
Andy Schaeffer added: "It is an honor to be taking on the role of CEO, Commercial Banking North America. The business has been successful customizing and executing US financing solutions for our global and UK customers and I am looking forward to building on this success as we continue to act as their US-UK gateway".
Schaeffer reports into Grant and his appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
